Case Study: Brockenhurst College

Overview
Following detailed surveys and a comprehensive consultation process, Newteam Services was contracted by Brockenhurst College to address a critical issue with the heating system in their sports block. The existing Roca boilers had become defective, and with replacement parts no longer available, a complete overhaul of the plant was required to ensure the continued comfort and safety of staff and students.

The Challenge
The college faced a significant problem with its sports block heating system. The aging Roca boilers had reached the end of their operational life, leading to a complete failure of the plant. The core challenge was the inability to source replacement components, rendering a repair solution unfeasible. A swift and efficient replacement was essential to restore heating and hot water services while meeting modern energy efficiency and compliance standards.

The Solution
Newteam Services was entrusted with the full scope of works. Our team meticulously planned and executed the project, starting with the careful removal of the obsolete boiler plant. This was followed by the supply and installation of new high-efficiency boilers, selected for their reliability, performance, and long-term sustainability.

In addition, the project required the installation of a new, purpose-built flue system to safely vent combustion gases. We also undertook local pipework modifications to integrate the new boilers seamlessly with the existing infrastructure. To maximise energy efficiency, we applied thermal insulation to the new pipework. The final phase involved meticulous plant commissioning, ensuring that every component operated in harmony to achieve optimal performance and full compliance with current regulations.

The Outcome
The successful completion of the project has provided Brockenhurst College with a modern, reliable, and highly efficient heating system. The new boiler plant not only restores essential services to the sports block but also delivers significant improvements in energy performance, reducing the college's operational costs and environmental impact.
